Directions from O'Hare International Airport

Driving directions
(Note: When leaving O'Hare, you will be using I-190.)

By Taxi

We recommend that you take Norshore Cabs to get to the University. The company is based in Evanston, so they know exactly how to get to the university and they charge a flat rate, about $22, which is a good deal. The trip will take between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

When you arrive at O'Hare, go to the lower level and pick up any baggage you may have. Then call Norshore at 1-800-244-9200. They will ask you where you are going (you can just tell them that you are going to Northwestern University) and what airline you used to get to O'Hare. They will usually tell you the number of the cab that will pick you up, as well as which door to wait by.

Norshore usually has a few cabs out at the airport, but the longest time you would have to wait would be 20 minutes. The cabs stop on the island that is parallel to the sidewalk outside the terminal, so once you exit the terminal you will have to cross the street to get to the island. Norshore cabs are pale yellow with a red stripe, and the number is usually in the corner of the front windshield.

Once the cab has arrived, you can tell the driver that you are going to a parking lot between Foster and Noyes on Sheridan Rd (around 2029 Sheridan). The parking lot is on the east side of the street. Once you have found the parking lot, ask the driver to drive all the way to the back of the lot and down a little hill, and to turn left at the base of the hill. On your left will be Annenberg Hall, the site of the conference, a new-looking white-stone three-story building.

By Elevated Rail

From O'Hare, take the Blue Line downtown to the Loop and change to the Red Line at either Washington or Jackson streets (to change trains you will need to walk through the underground passageway). Take the Red line north to Howard Street. Exit the train at Howard, but stay on the platform until a Purple Line train arrives. Take the Purple Line north to Foster Street. Walk east on Foster Street until you reach Sheridan Road. Cross the street and walk north on Sheridan until you reach a huge parking lot. Walk all the way to the back of the lot and down a little hill, and turn left at the base of the hill, at the stop sign. On your left will be Annenberg Hall, the site of the conference, a new-looking white-stone three-story building.
